The Story

About the Author

Norma King, Author

Norma King

Norma King was raised by her great-grandparents in Ferndale, Michigan, before later moving to Tahlequah, Oklahoma, where she grew up hearing family stories of Cherokee ancestry, resilience, and survival that would later inspire her writing. Her childhood experiences fostered a deep appreciation for heritage, history, and the importance of understanding where we come from.

After studying childhood education at Ozark Christian College in Joplin, Missouri, she moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she pursued studies in medical and dental assisting and worked for many years serving others through nonprofit work and property management. Continuing her education through Tulsa Community College, she later earned certifications in housing management and real estate appraisal before becoming a Realtor® with Coldwell Banker Select in 2025.

Norma's love for Tulsa's history, architecture, arts, and Greenwood's legacy continues to inspire her storytelling. She and her husband, whom she married in 1987, built a life centered on family and are proud parents of three sons and growing grandchildren.
